At some point she had contracted the HIV virus and this turned into a full-blown case of AIDS. She was determined and worked with CBC to graduate in May with her class, which she did. After graduation her kids invited her to Canada, but before she left, the hospice doctors had given her three weeks to live. She was down to 98 pounds and in the natural things looked grim.
But God!!!!
She went on the trip to see her kids and continued in prayer and in the Word. Things began to change in the natural, and before she returned to Colorado Springs, she had gained around 27 pounds. Later she went back to the doctor and was waiting in one of the examination rooms, but the doctor peaked in, went back out and asked the nurse who was in there because he did not recognize her - they told him that it really was her.
The doctor returned and began to look over the chart and the lab report. He told her what the report said (no sign of AIDS or HIV) and then said that he needed to call the lab as something must be wrong. She knew that the report was right, but agreed to him calling. He left and then later returned and the report was right - no more HIV!!! He just shook his head in unbelief.
Praise God for the redemptive work of Jesus that took on ALL of our diseases and infirmities!
I wanted to share this with you as an encouragement. Remember that with God, all things are possible... and remember that Jesus already, through His shed Blood, healed you. It's not something you can try to earn - it's a wonderful gift from Him - part of your complete salvation package.
This kinda reminds me of a package I received on Monday - my benefits package for work. This package let me know all of the benefits I would receive for working for T. Rowe Price. Yes, it's a wonderful package, but if I don't read all of the information in the packet, then I won't know my benefits. How sad it would be if I had benefits such as bonuses and vacation, but never used them because I did not request these benefits - did not put in a "demand" for them!
How much more it is for us in our spiritual life! We have a lot of wonderful "benefits" that come in our "salvation benefits package". Do we really know what is in the package? It's all in the Bible. And if we do know the benefits, are we requesting them - are we putting a demand in the spirit to access those rights and privileges? Remember that all that a "demand" is, is taking your rightful authority to gain what is already yours. It's like having a bank account full of money and then going down to withdraw the money. It's your money and you rightful go down and "demand" a certain amount of the account. You wouldn't go down and beg them to give you your money would you? Like go to the bank and say, "Please, if you don't mind, can I have $40 out of my account?" and then nervously wait to see if the teller would say yes or no. You wouldn't do this when you had an account full of money - would you? NO! You just go up and get what is rightfully yours.
It's the same way with all that Jesus did for us and then gave to us. We already have healing, soundness of mind, peace, prosperity, joy, love, goodness, kindness, etc. We just have to remember that it's ours to receive.
And don't let that "wanna be" bully - satan - deny you of your benefits. Would you accept it if that teller said something like, "I'm sorry, but you blew it on the way over. I saw how you spoke to that person in the lobby. Maybe come back tomorrow when your behavior is better"? No, you would not walk out of the bank and "try again later"! You would take authority over the situation and get your money. It's the same way with the things of God. We have a right to receive all that He gave us through His Son, Jesus Christ. But the enemy is going to come against you with false accusations as to why you don't deserve to receive... or lies of "I can't receive that because..."... or through doubt and unbelief. Don't let him steal from you! Don't let him kill those hopes and dreams! Don't let him destroy your life. Stand up for what is rightfully yours!
One last parting thought....
In one of my classes we learned that God wants us to receive all that He has for us, but too many times, we don't. There are three reasons (in general) that we don't live the life that God has planned for us and those reason are (1) ignorance (lack of knowledge), (2) misinformation and (3) denominational doctrines. The remedy for all three is kinda simple - read the Bible and find out what God really says, and then walk in the Truth of His Word.
I just got a knock on the door and one of my neighbors needs help, so I need to close, but hope this post encourages you in all that God has for you. Forget not one of His benefits...and walk in them all!
